In April I started making this afghan for Ruby. She wanted something that matched the colors of her room. Her room is black, white, and a lime greenish color. I didn’t want to incorporate the green color into her blanket, since I figure her room won’t be green forever. Ruby loves, loves, loves the color gray! We decided to go with black, white, and gray for the color sequence. Here are the finished results…
Ruby’s Crocheted Ripple Afghan
Ruby was able to use her blanket over the weekend while she stayed with some of her family. I was thrilled when she told me she enjoyed snuggling with it and that her family loved it also!
I’d have to say that I’m really enjoying making blankets. I personally LOVE cuddling up with a good blanket. I’m the type of person that needs a blanket when I sleep, even if it’s hot! Plus, homemade blankets are something you can have forever and even pass on to your kids. I still have a white crocheted blanket that someone made for me when I was little and I gave it to Ryan.
Some notes on the blanket:
Pattern: Vanna’s Choice: Color it Beautiful Afghans (A Leisure Arts Publication), pgs. 32-33
Yarn: Loops & Threads by Michael’s in colors Black, White, and True Grey
Hook size: yarn calls for “H”, but I used “N”
